Process

1. Attend an informational meeting to receive an overview of the school and an application packet.  Application packets are available only at informational meetings. Both parents must attend at least one informational meeting before their child begins classes at Veritas Academy.
   
   
2. Read required books on Classical and Christian education and University-Model Schools®, all of which may be obtained from the academy:
   
   
   • Character Driven College Preparation by Dr. John Turner, Jr. (a small, 62 page book on UMS)
     
     
   • An Introduction to Classical Education: A Guide for Parents by Christopher A. Perrin
     
     
   • Kingdom Education by Glen Schultz
     
     
3. Prayerfully consider your family’s needs for education and whether those needs would best be met by Veritas Academy.
   
   
4. Complete an application and subsequent registration form for each student and mail to Veritas Academy.  Attach transcripts, recent report cards, standardized test results, immunization records and anything else requested on the application.  Please note that the actual date when you formally apply for admission may be used to help determine course registration priority relative to other new students.  Enclose the requisite fees and notify references to expect a call from the academy’s admissions team.
   
   
5. Participate in a family interview to be scheduled after your application has been received and reviewed.  This interview is for the purpose of discussing the compatibility of the family’s goals with the school’s methods and philosophy.  Parents will need to have read the required reading prior to the scheduling of a family interview.
   
   
6. Bring your child to placement testing to be scheduled after the family interview.  A testing fee (usually around $40 per child) will be required at the time of testing.
   
   
7. Receive acceptance letter along with a registration acknowledgement (not a final confirmation) and an invoice for the amount of tuition due within ten days.  Provided that payment is received when due, your child’s registration will be processed but remain in pending status until the admissions process is complete and course times and availability are determined.  Acceptance and registration acknowledgement does not automatically confirm a requested course schedule.
   
   
8. Before the first week of classes, receive a Course Schedule Confirmation with your child’s course schedule and room/teacher assignments.
