Admissions Process for Sibling Applicants
It is our desire to bless families by serving as many of their children as possible. As such, sibling applicants receive priority consideration, although not automatic admission, at Veritas Academy. Each sibling must complete an application for admission and participate in placement testing prior to receiving an admissions decision. The complete Sibling Admissions Process is outlined below.
1. Complete an Online Application
After prayerfully considering each of your children's needs for education, complete an Online Sibling Application for Admission. You will need to create a user account if it has been more than one year since you submitted an application for a currently enrolled child. After creating an account, you may begin and submit an application, including the $100 sibling application fee, and the online portal will help you track additional required items (e.g., school records and recommendations, student writing samples and reading lists, etc.). The link to Sibling Applications will be made available each fall via the weekly School Memo, and the Instructions for Completing a Sibling Application checklist is a helpful guide to ensure all requested forms and student work are submitted on time. Please note that the Veritas Sibling Application may be used as an application update, when appropriate.
Sibling Application Deadline: Wednesday, December 4, 2019
2. Placement Testing for Applicant
Students applying for Pre-K and Kindergarten will participate in a readiness screening, and students applying for grades 1 and above will participate in placement testing. All testing will take place at Veritas Academy, and testing times will be confirmed after the application deadline. Testing results will be evaluated and shared with you, as they may influence student placement and/or admission. Students applying for grades 7 and above will also have the opportunity to experience our classes by shadowing a Veritas student. Shadowing is optional for 7th and 8th grade applicants and is required for 9th-12th applicants who need to plan to spend the entire day on campus.
3. Receive an Admissions Decision
Admissions decisions will be mailed after all prior steps of the admissions process have been completed and prior to Veritas Academy's annual Re-enrollment Process. Following an acceptance offer, you may enroll newly accepted students while re-enrolling sibling(s), streamlining this process for your entire family.
For siblings who apply via the Spring or Summer Deadline, you can expect to receive an admissions decision 3-4 weeks following placement testing.
4. Prepare for the School Year
Purchase school uniforms and all required textbooks at the beginning of the summer. Submit health records, TAPPS physicals (for athletes), and all requested records to the school office. Complete required summer reading. (All details will be provided via the School Memo at the beginning of summer.)
5. Attend New Co-Teacher/Family Orientation
The parent serving as the primary Co-Teacher is encouraged to participate in our annual summer training designed to equip all teachers in their role at Veritas Academy. New K-12th students will be asked to attend as well and will include school orientation.
Paideia Conference & Camp: August 10th-12th
