Covid Updates from our Head of School

The mission and vision of Veritas Academy has remained unchanged since the founding of the school and is rooted in partnership. We continue to believe that together we are better, and this is at the forefront of our minds as we navigate this school year's many moving pieces.

Our primary objective for the 2020-2021 school year is to maximize in-person, on-campus instruction for our students, conducted in a manner that is as safe as reasonably and practically possible for both our kids and their teachers. Striking this balance will not be the easiest thing we attempt this year, and yet we believe it is possible as we remain committed to supporting the safety of our community and upholding the mission and values of Veritas Academy that have brought us together.

Week 32 Covid Update & Area Numbers

April 23, 2021
By Jef Fowler, HOS

We came so close to completing a full week without a positive test in the Veritas community of students and faculty/staff, but, alas, it was not to be as one more positive case emerged with a student in the SL. Nevertheless, given our track record since Spring Break, we’re going to take this week as a win and hope/believe that it portends a return to Covid-free days at school.

Please continue the vigilance, as one- to two-week quarantines for students going into these final activity- and exam-filled weeks can be devastating. Hang in there a bit longer, knowing that normalcy will soon be returning to Veritas as most to all of the special protocols we’ve followed this year will not follow us into the fall term.

Locally, the Austin area experienced another flat week of new cases with a slight uptick in new hospitalizations, keeping us squarely in Stage 3 territory. See this week’s charts below…

As of Thu, Apr 22
