Save-the-Date for Carpe Unitas Q&A on Fri, July 18
This summer has been exciting with both the site work and vision for Carpe Unitas progressing, and we are eager to share updates, break down the project, and hear your questions. If you haven't yet seen the "Reveal" recorded on Wed, May 21, we encourage you to start there (directly below) and believe it is well worth an hour of your time.
Then, save the date for a Q&A on Zoom in July and let us know what questions you have about Carpe Unitas as we seek to create a vibrant “village” for indoor athletics, performing arts, and community gatherings all centered around an open agora in the heart of campus where we can come together.
We look forward to seeing you online—from home, the beach, or wherever you are—on Fri, July 18, at noon. Carpe Unitas!

Surveys, Silt Fences & Site Work — Oh My!
We are excited to announce that the surveyors, stakes, fencing, and dirt moving happening on campus are all part of Carpe Unitas! Site work/improvements are an important step of preparing for our coming gym/community spaces, and starting work now will help to maximize work throughout the summer months while, hopefully, minimizing disruptions to the start of the school year.
Thank you for continuing to cover the entirety of this project in prayer as we continue to raise the funds needed for vertical construction!
What things are included in site improvements?
In addition to essential improvements like digging/expanding water quality and retention ponds and installing/relocating utilities, our list of site improvements includes:
- Removal/relocation of the current carpool loop from the center of campus to create an agora and central gathering space between all academic buildings that will also improve drop-off and pick-up for our youngest Grammar School students
- Unification of the Upper Grammar School classrooms with a new, purpose-built restroom and boardwalk
- Relocating the 3rd and 4th Grade Grammar School portables to be closer to the new carpool loop
- Addition of a parking lot to include 100+ parking spaces
While most of the work done between now and the summer will not be directly around students, we are limiting campus access to those who have cleared our security processes as well as the security processes of the excavation company.
When will construction on the gym begin?
The exact timing of (vertical) construction is dependent on fundraising, and we would love to meet with anyone interested in learning more about Carpe Unitas. With over $8.5M in commitments, we have already raised more than anytime before in Veritas’s history, and we are grateful for the generosity, prayers, and partnership of our community. To learn more, please reach out to our Campaign Coordinator, Betsy Cromer.
Can we see the gym plans?
Yes! Please plan to join us on the last day of school, Wednesday, May 21, for a “plan reveal” before the Year-End Assembly. More details coming soon!
